The 1893 Society honors and recognizes those who have made a planned gift commitment to Montana State University. Through planned gifts, more than 700 alumni and friends have shared their vision for the University's next generation of successes.

Montana State University's success is rooted in the vision and investment of its founders and the dedication of its faculty, students and community to create the state's first institution of higher learning in 1893. Today, members of the 1893 Society continue to invest in the future success of Montana State University.

When you become a member of the 1893 Society, you will receive an invitation to our annual recognition event hosted by the university president in the fall along with other engagement opportunities available only to members. We are always welcome to hearing how you would like to be appreciated for your commitment and support of Montana State University.

Membership in the 1893 Society is extended to those who have provided for Montana State University with a deferred gift or other estate planning mechanism, such as annuities, trusts, retirement plans or life insurance policies.

To join the 1893 Society, please let us know about your planned gift intentions:

• Have you included Montana State University in a will or trust?
• Have you named Montana State University a beneficiary of retirement assets, a life insurance policy or savings account?
• Have you created a life income gift to ultimately benefit Montana State University, such as a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust?
• Do you retain a life estate on real estate given to Montana State University?
